Organ donation is critical to the minority community. Individuals who are racial and ethnic minorities make up about 20 percent of the population, but represent 54 percent of those waiting for organ transplants.

Individuals who are racial and ethnic minorities,  African Americans in particular are disproportionately affected by diseases that can often lead to organ failure like diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.

It's important to remember that organs and tissue can be transplanted between races and genders. You can give hope to thousands of men, women, and children from all cultures who are waiting for a life-changing organ, cornea or tissue transplant by simply joining the Ohio Donor Registry today.
